SOPA STRIKE - Largest online protest in history - January 18 - blackout your site

Les américains ont réussi à se battre pour conserver la liberté d'Internet contre les projets de lois SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) et PIPA portés par les Majors du disque via son lobby MPAA et cela grâce à plus de 13 Millions d'eMails sur différents sites de pétitions. C'est la plus grande campagne activiste réalisée à ce jour sur Internet.

TheCricLinks a un peu participé à cette bataille de black-Out via un bandeau que vous avez pu croiser en haut du blog il y a quelques temps.

Une pétition demandant une enquête pour corruption (bribery) est organisée sur le site de la Maison Blanche contre le sénateur Christ Dodd qui dirige le lobby des majors MPAA et cela depuis que les projets SOPA et PIPA sont abandonnés. Chris Dodd ayant fait des menaces explicites.


Afin de vous faire partager cette ambiance de bataille contre ces projets de lois, voici une phrase marquante que je traduis ensuite : "Under SOPA, you could get 5 years for uploading a Michael Jackson song, one year more than the doctor who killed him"

"Sous le régime de la loi SOPA vous pourriez prendre 5 ans de prison pour mettre en téléchargement une chanson de Michael, soit une année de plus que le docteur qui l'a tué"

The MPAA (the lobby for big movie studios which created these terrible bills) was shocked and seemingly humbled. “‘This was a whole new different game all of a sudden,’ MPAA Chairman and former Senator Chris Dodd told the New York Times.
‘[PIPA and SOPA were] considered by many to be a slam dunk.’”

“'This is altogether a new effect,' Mr. Dodd said, comparing the online movement to the Arab Spring. He could not remember seeing 'an effort that was moving with this degree of support change this dramatically' in the last four decades, he added."
